Spirited Away  – StorylinePlot :

The family’s car stops ahead of a tunnel resulting in what appears to be an abandoned funfair which Chihiro’s father insists on exploring, despite his daughter’s protest. They find a seemingly empty restaurant still stocked food, which Chihiro’s parents immediately begin to eat. While exploring further, Chihiro finds an exquisite bathhouse and meets a boy named Haku, who warns her to return across the riverbed before sunset. However, Chihiro discovers too late that her parents have metamorphosed into pigs, and she or he is unable to cross the now-flooded river.

Spirited Away Full Movie Review:

Haku finds Chihiro and has her invite employment from the bathhouse’s boiler-man, Kamaji, a yōkai commanding the susuwatari. Kamaji refuses to rent her and asks worker Lin to send Chihiro to Yubaba, the witch who runs the bathhouse. Yubaba tries to frighten Chihiro away, but she persists, so Yubaba gives Chihiro a contract to figure for her. Yubaba takes away her name and renames her Sen (千). While visiting her parents’ pigpen, Haku gives Sen a goodbye card she had together with her , and Sen realizes that she had already forgotten her real name. Haku warns her that Yubaba controls people by taking their names, which if she forgets hers like he has forgotten his, she is going to not be ready to leave the imaginary place .

Spirited Away is my favourite Hayao Miyazi movie. it is a departure from his previous films (all of them wonderful), within the sense that this film lacks the themes so common in his other work: humans vs nature, large scale battles being the prime examples. All for the higher I say, because it allows him to make something truly unique and stunning. The story revolves around Chihiro, a lass who, on the thanks to her new house, stumbles into an abandoned funfair and is soon transported into a magical world of spirits, gods and human-frog hybrids.
